A Symphonic Ensemble is Born

The UK Conservatoire Brass Ensemble was created as a result of an innovative collaboration between John Wallace, the PLG and all of the UK’s Conservatoires.

Creating a symphonic brass ensemble it comprised the finest student players in the country from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, Trinity Laban, Leeds College of Music, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

The players came together for the first time at the John Wallace 65th Birthday Celebration Concert held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London on 27th May 2014, under the baton of the notable Elgar Howarth, when they performed his landmark arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
